LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The NM State men's golf team will kick off the 2025-26 campaign in Chandler, Ariz., as they compete against 11 other programs at the Whirlwind Invitational hosted by Southern California.
 
The three-round tournament will see teams play 36 holes on Monday before returning Tuesday for the final round of competition.
 
AGGIE LINEUP
The Aggies' lineup will consist of seniors Javier Delgadillo, Ethan Klose and Anthony Lara, junior Vari Mariscal and sophomore Mateo Payan. This group of Aggies make up five of the eight Aggie returners on this year's roster.
 
THE FIELD
NM State will be joined in Arizona by the host USC in addition to Arkansas State, Stetson, San Francisco, James Madison, Georgia State, UT Arlington, UTEP, Eastern Michigan, George Washington and Northern Colorado.
 
THE COURSE
Located just 20 minutes south of Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport in Chandler, Arizona, Whirlwind Golf Club is a truly unique Southwest golf experience sensitively designed to preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Gila River Indian Community. Surrounded by spectacular mountains, this unique golf venue was also home to the PGA's Nationwide Insurance Tour, Gila River Golf Classic for five years.  Winners include Ben Crane, David Branshaw, Lucas Glover, Chris Nallen and David McKenzie.
 
Whirlwind Invitational
Dates: Monday, Sept. 8 – Tuesday, Sept. 9 (Two rounds Monday, one round Tuesday)
