LAS CRUCES, N.M. - NM State leaned on pitching and timely power Saturday evening to secure its second straight win over UTEP at the NM State Softball Complex. The Aggies locked in defensively and made the most of key at‑bats to control the rivalry matchup. Behind a dominant performance in the circle, NM State captured a 3–0 shutout.

NM State broke through in the second inning when Faith Aragon doubled home the game's first run. After several scoreless frames, the Aggies added insurance in the fifth as Destan Burks launched a solo homer before Kendal Lunar followed with a home run of her own in the next at‑bat. Faith Aragon handled the rest, retiring UTEP down the stretch to seal the shutout victory.
