Aragon Earns First Pitcher of the Week Honor of Season for Aggies

DALLAS – NM State softball pitcher Faith Aragon has been named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week after delivering a dominant weekend in the circle, anchoring the Aggies to a 2-1 weekend and setting the tone throughout the series.

Aragon was dominant in the circle across two appearances, finishing the weekend with a 2-0 record while working 14.0 innings without allowing an earned run to post a spotless 0.00 ERA. She controlled opposing lineups from start to finish, limiting hitters to an .089 batting average and showcasing command and efficiency throughout the weekend.

The junior racked up 21 strikeouts, accounting for the majority of NM State's punchouts in the circle, while consistently working deep into games and controlling the tempo in each outing. Aragon also authored two shutout performances, shutting down opposing offenses from first pitch to final out.

With her performances, Aragon continues to establish herself among the nation's elite, currently ranking sixth nationally in strikeouts with 197 on the season. The weekly honor marks the first Conference USA Pitcher of the Week award for an NM State player during the 2026 season, highlighting Aragon's impact and leadership in the circle.
