At the CUSA Championships, Cavitt claimed High Point Scorer of the Meet, while Lane added Field Performer of the Meet.

DALLAS – Marlee Cavitt and Alesha Lane have been named to the 2026 Conference USA All-Academic team, announced the conference office on Friday. Cavitt and Lane make up two of the 22 total student-athletes recognized by CUSA for outstanding achievement in sport and the classroom.

Marlee Cavitt took home the 2026 Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Women's High Point Scorer of the Meet award after notching individual championships in the 100m and the 200m, while also helping the 4x100 relay team take sixth overall. Cavitt would later go on to represent the Crimson & White in the 100m and 200m at the 2026 NCAA West First Round, hosted at the University of Arkansas. In total, the junior from Sacramento tallied four podium finishes between the indoor and outdoor CUSA Championships, including three individual titles (200m indoor, 100m & 200m outdoor). She now also holds the fastest outdoor 100m time in school history (11.38). She holds a 3.72 GPA while majoring in exercise science.

Alesha Lane was named the 2026 CUSA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Field Performer of the Meet following a weekend that saw her record the most points by an individual in field events (17), thanks to a pair of podium finishes and an eighth-place result in the hammer throw. Down to her last attempt in the shot put, the senior from Casper, Wyo., launched a new personal best throw of 16.05 meters (52-8") to overtake the top spot on the leaderboard and claim her first individual outdoor title. Lane would join Cavitt as the only two Aggies to compete in multiple events at the NCAA West First Round, which saw Lane in both the shot put and discus. Lane has a 3.72 GPA in physical education.
