LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Fall is here, and so are the Aggies. On Wednesday, NM State Head Coach Joseph Rath announced the 2026 Cross Country Schedule.
 
The Aggies will kick off the season in a familiar place, competing at the NMSU Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 5. New for 2026, the home meet has been renamed the Art Morgan Classic Open, honoring NM State Hall of Fame Inductee (2000) and former NM State track coach Art Morgan.
 
NM State will travel south to El Paso for the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open two weeks later, hosted by UTEP at Ascarate Park on Sept. 19. This marks a return to hosting cross country competition for the Miners, who split hosting duties for the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open with NM State until 2019.
 
For the first time since the 2011-2012 season, the Aggies will travel to Stillwater, Okla., for the Cowboy Jamboree, hosted by Oklahoma State, on Saturday, Sept. 26.
 
The Crimson & White will compete in the Arturo Barrios Invitational as their final meet of the regular season on Oct. 16. This serves as one of the largest meets in the country as last season's edition saw the Aggies competing in fields of over 300 student-athletes for both men and women.
 
Entering year four of Conference USA, the Aggies will compete at the 2026 CUSA Championships, hosted at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala., on Saturday, Oct. 31. In 2025, the Aggie women secured a second-place finish at the meet, its best since joining CUSA in July 2023. The Aggie men tallied a fifth-place finish, bolstered by a Second Team All-CUSA performance by Andrew Gibby.
 
Following the CUSA Championships, NM State will make the drive up to Albuquerque to run in the NCAA Mountain Regional, hosted by the University of New Mexico at the UNM North Golf Course.
