Aggies Conclude First Tournament of New Season

MADISON, Wisc. – The NM State women's golf team wrapped up play at the Badger Invitational on Tuesday, finishing 13th in a 16-team field at University Ridge Golf Course. Battling weather delays, the Aggies carded a three-round score of 910 (+46) after rounds of 301-301-308 at their first tournament of the 2026-27 campaign.
 
Leading the way for NM State was Rylee Salome, who tied for 36th overall at 225 (+9). Salome opened the tournament with an even-par 72 and closed with a 76 (+4) in the final round.
 
Just one stroke behind was Camille Pazouki, who tied for 38th at 226 (+10). Pazouki also started strong with an even-par 72 in the opening round before finishing the event at 10-over.
 
Alex Armendariz finished tied for 62nd with a 54-hole score of 231 (+15). After opening with a 78, Armendariz posted the Aggies' second-best round of the tournament with a 73 (+1) on Monday before closing with an 80.
 
Sophia Luna and Carina Stauffer each held a share of 69th at 233 (+17). Luna improved her score in each round, finishing with a final-round 76 (+4), while Stauffer rebounded from an opening-round 80 to shoot 76 and 77 over the final two days.
 
As a team, the Aggies finished ahead of Western Kentucky, Sam Houston and Bradley after posting their best rounds in each of the first two days of competition. Iowa State captured the team title with an 857 (-7), while Emma Zheng of Iowa State earned medalist honors at 209 (-7).
