Sophomore (2022): Competed in five meets for NM State… Kicked off the year with a season-best finish of 17^th at the Lori Fitzgerald Open (5K; Sep. 3), posting a time of 16:21.5… Ran a time of 26:21.5 in the 8K at the Dave Murray Invitational (Sep. 30), crossing the line in 34^th… Closed the year posting a personal best in the 8K at the 2022 WAC Cross Country Championships (Oct. 29) to cross in 67^th – a personal best finish at the conference meet.


Freshman (2021): Competed in three meets for NM State... Opened the season with a personal best time in the 5k at the Lori Fitzgerald Open (Sept. 18), recording a mark of 16:14.00... Posted a personal best of 26:18.90 in the 8k at the Highlander Invitational (Oct. 16).

High School: Helped San Elizario High School maintain a reputation as one of the top prep cross country programs in the state of Texas... Ran for head coach Cesar Morales at San Elizario... Collected three varsity letters... Helped the team post a third-place finish (2018), a second-place finish (2019) and a championship finish (2020) at the Texas high school cross country championships... Individually, generated a third-place finish at the 2020 Texas 4A high school cross country championships... Ranked among the top 59 prep cross country runners in the state in a list of over 1,000 student-athletes. 

Personal | Born January 28, 2003... Son of Pedro Avalos and Melissa Delgado... Has three siblings... Plans to major in civil engineering at NM State.
