Initial Eligibility
Academic Support Programs & Services Center staff is responsible for pre-evaluation of high school transcripts, working with prospects to send all of their information to the NCAA and working with high schools on class issues. The Athletic Compliance Office will maintain all contact with the NCAA for clarification purposes, high school reviews, prospect reviews and initial eligibility waivers.
 
Admissions
Academic Support Programs & Services Center staff is responsible for all aspects pertaining to NMSU admissions procedures, protocols and policies for prospective student athletes. The Compliance Office will collaborate with the ASPSC on all appeal and denied admission situations.
 
Eligibility Certification – continuing eligibility
Academic Support Programs & Services Center staff is responsible for providing information to review and enter data on Eligibility Software. The Compliance Office will attend eligibility certification meetings to be an additional reviewer and to answer interpretative issues.
 
Academic Progress Rate (APR)
Academic Support Programs & Services Center staff is responsible for all aspects of submission of APR. The Compliance Office will assist with the process.
 
GSR
Compliance Office in conjunction with Institutional Research are responsible for submission. Academic Support Programs & Services Center staff will assist with the process.
 
Summer School Aid Approvals
Academic Support Programs & Services Center staff will be responsible for summer school program. Compliance Office will submit a list of students that are eligible for summer aid per NCAA rule to ASPSC. After approval Compliance Office will award aid based on NCAA rules.
 
5th Year Aid Approvals
Academic Support Programs & Services Center staff will be responsible for 5th Year Aid program. Compliance Office will submit a list of students that are eligible for 5th Year Aid per NCAA rule to Student Services. After approval Compliance Office will award aid based on NCAA rules.
