Pro Aggies

NM State currently has a quartet of former student-athletes playing professional soccer, both abroad and domestically. 

Makenna Gottschalk | GK | DC Power Football Club | United States
A three-year starter for the Crimson & White after transferring in from Daytona State College, Gottschalk helped the Aggies to their first-ever NCAA tournament in 2022. In '22, Gottschalk had her best collegiate season, earning Second Team All-WAC honors, as well as the 2022 WAC Tournament MVP. The Broomfield, Colo. native holds multiple program records - including goalkeeper wins (24), career shutouts (14) - while also ranking third in career saves (234) and third in goals against average (1.42). 

Professionally, Gottschalk began her career with FC Pinzgau Saalfelden in Austria, before joining Sport Clube União Torreense in Portugal. Over the last two seasons, Gottschalk has returned stateside, competing with Fort Lauderdale FC and most recently signing with DC Power Football Club of the Gainsbridge Super League (USL). In six appearances for DC Power FC this season, Gottschalk has posted a pair of clean sheets and 20 total saves.

LeVandrea 'Landy' Williams | D | Budapest Honvéd FC | Hungary 
A stalwart along the defensive back line for two seasons in Las Cruces, Williams was instrumental in helping the Aggies claim their first conference title in program history in 2022, while also advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in NM State history. A 2022 Second Team All-WAC selection, Williams played 34 games for NM State, making 21 starts while amassing 2,341 minutes. The Klamath Falls, Ore., native currently plays for Budapest Honvéd FC, a Hungarian professional team in the Merkantil Bank Liga (Nemzeti Bajnokság II).

Loma McNeese | F | HK Kópavogur | Iceland
A fixture in the Aggie lineup over her five seasons with the Crimson & White, McNeese ranks as the best offensive player in program history, pacing the record book in career points (75), goals (29), assists (17) and game-winning goals (8), while tied for first in multi-goal games (4) and second in total shots (172). She became the first Aggie to win Player of the Year honors (2023, CUSA), while also earning CUSA Offensive Player of the Year, All-CUSA First Team honors and CUSA All-Tournament team honors. In 2022, McNeese scored the lone NM State goal in the team's appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Sherwood, Ore., native recently completed her first season with HK Kópavogur, a professional team in The Lengja League.

Amaya Simoni-Walters | MF | North Lakes United FC | Australia 
The latest Aggie to sign professionally, Amaya Simoni-Walters finished her collegiate career with the Crimson & White in 2025, playing all 18 matches while making 17 starts, leading the team in points (8), while tied for the lead in assists (4) and second on the team in goals (2). Simoni-Walters recently signed with North Lakes United FC of the Football Queensland Premier League 1 in Australia.
