New Mexico State University Athletics

Cross Country 2012 (Freshman): Gonzales competed in three events for the Aggies in the 2012 cross country season.  Gonzales' best overall performance came at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 7) when he finished 24th overall.  Gonzales also competed in the Kachina Classic (Sept. 15) and the Grand Canyon Invitational (Oct. 6).

High School: Gonzales attended St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe, N.M., where he ran track and field and cross country.  Gonzales helped his cross country team win the state championship in 2008 and district championships in 2008 and 2011.  Gonzales set school records in the 1,600m and the 3,200m.  Gonzales was named to the All-West team, All-State team for three years, All-District team for four years, All-Harrier team, and was named as the Northern New Mexico Athlete of the year in 2009.

Personal: Gonzales was born in Santa Fe, N.M., and is the son of Lawrence and Valerie Gonzales.  He plans to major in marketing.
