Biography

 

2012 Outdoor (Freshman): Lewiecki competed in a series of long distance events for the Aggies in the 2012 outdoor season.  Lewiecki marked her best time in the 1,500m at the 2012 Texas State Bobcat Classic (April 27).  Lewiecki also ran the 5,000m throughout the season, posting her best time in the event at the WAC Championships (May 8) with a time of 18:54.62 when she finished 15th overall.  Lewiecki also ran the 3,000m steeplechase at the WAC Championships to finishes sixth overall and earn second team All-WAC honors, posting a time of 11:19.67, which was also a season-best for her.  Lewiecki now sits at fourth all-time for the 3,000m steeplechase in NM State history.  Lewiecki also ran the 4x400m relay during the season, helping her team finish in a season-best at the UTEP Springtime Invitational (March 24).

 

2012 Indoor (Freshman): Lewiecki ran the 1-mile and relay events for NM State during most of the 2012 indoor season.  One of Lewiecki’s best performances came at the Texas Tech Open (Jan. 13) when she ran a time of 3:16.94 in the 1,000m, placing her fourth all-time for NM State.  Lewiecki posted her best finish in the 1-mile with a time of 5:24.30 at the WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 23).  Lewiecki ran the 800m at the New Mexico Collegiate Invitational (Jan. 27), posting a time of 2:25.85.  Lewiecki also ran the 4,000m distance medley and the 4x400m relay during the season.

2011 Cross Country (Freshman): Lewiecki hit the ground running in her career at NM State, placing well in the six events she ran in 2011.  Lewiecki's best finish came at the Grand Canyon Invitational (Oct. 8) where she placed first for NM State and 14th overall with a time of 19:38.7 in the 6K.  Lewieckie notched her season-best time of 19:14.4 at the Kachina Classic (Sept. 17) where she placed seventh for NM State and 18th overall.  Lewiecki also placed well at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 10) where she placed second for NM State and ninth overall with a time of 20:13.5 in the 5,080m.  Lewiecki was one of only two freshman to run for NM State at the Pre-Nationals as well. 

High School:  Lewiecki ran track and cross country for Monzano High School out of Albuquerque, N.M., where she set a school record for the 1600m.  Lewiecki was the 5A cross country state champion in 2010.  In 2011, Lewiecki was named state champion in the 5A 3200m and the 5A 1600m.  All of her accomplishments earned her a spot in the Albuquerque Sports Hall of Fame.

Personal:  Lewiecki was born in Albuquerque, N.M., and is the daughter of David Lewiecki and Yvonne Swartz.  Lewiecki is majoring in marketing.
