Biography

2012 Cross Country (Freshman): Silva competed in six of the eight events for NM State in the 2012 cross country season.  Silva's best overall and team performance came at the Kachina Classic (Sept. 15) when he finished 12th overall and sixth for NM State with a time of 26:14 in the 8K.  Silva also finished strong at the Lobo Invitational (Aug. 31) when he finished 31st overall and seventh for NM State with a time of 20:38.4, marking his best time of the season for the 8K.  Silva also competed in the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 7), the Rim Rock Classic (Sept. 29), the Grand Canyon Invitational (Oct. 6) and the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 13).

High School: Silva attended Indo High School in Indo, Calif., where he ran cross country and track and field.  Silva helped his team with the league championship all four years in high school.  Silva received two varsity letters in cross country and track.  Silva was named to the first team all-division in cross country in 2011-12.

Personal: Silva was born in Rancho Mirage, Calif., and is the son of Rodolfo and Olivia Silva.  He plans to major in history.
