2013 Indoor (Junior): Sanchez ran the 1-mile and the 3,000m for the Aggies during the 2013 indoor track and field season. Sanchez’s best 1-mile time came at the Don Kirby Open (Feb. 9) where she ran a time of 5:29.91. Sanchez’s top 3,000m time came at the New Mexico Cherry and Silver Invitational (Jan. 18) when she ran a time of 11:17.44. At the WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 21), Sanchez competed in the 3,000m Sanchez also competed in the 4,000m distance medley at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (Feb. 1).
2012 Cross Country (Junior): Sanchez competed in six events for the Aggies in the 2012 cross country season. Sanchez opened the season strong by finishing seventh for NM State and 16th overall with a time of 20:13.9 at the Lobo Invitational (Aug. 31). Sanchez orchestrated her best overall finish at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 7) when she finished 12th overall in the 5K with a time of 20:02.61. Sanchez posted her best time of the season at the WAC Championships (Oct. 27) when she finished sixth for NM State and 36th overall with a time of 18:51.83. Sanchez also competed in the Kachina Classic (Sept. 15), Rim Rock Classic (Sept. 29) and the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 13).
2012 Outdoor (Sophomore): Sanchez was named as a WAC All-Academic athlete for the 2012 season. Sanchez ran the 1,500m and the 3,000m steeplechase for the 2012 outdoor season. Sanchez posted her best time in the 3,000m steeplechase of 11:28.25 at the WAC Championships (May 8) to finish eighth overall. Her finish in the event also places her eighth all-time for NM State. Sanchez also ran the 1,500m at the UTEP Springtime Invitational (March 24).
2012 Indoor (Sophomore): Sanchez was named to the academic all-WAC team in 2012. Sanchez competed in the 3,000m in three meets for the Aggies in the 2012 indoor season. Sanchez posted her best time in the 3,000m at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (Feb. 3). Sanchez also competed at the New Mexico Collegiate Invitational (Jan. 27) and the New Mexico Cherry and Silver Invitational (Jan. 20).
Cross Country 2011 (Sophomore): Sanchez was one of the Aggies to receive All-Academic Honors for the WAC in 2011. Sanchez ran in four events for the Aggies in the 2011 season. Sanchez posted her season-best time at the Kachina Classic (Sept. 17) with a time of 19:46.5. Sanchez posted her season-best finish for NM State at the Grand Canyon Invitational (Oct. 8) when she finished fifth for NM State and 23rd overall. Sanchez also ran in the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 10), finishing in a season-best overall finish of 16th place.
Outdoor 2011 (Freshman): Sanchez ran the 800m and the 1,500m for the Aggies during the outdoor track season. Sanchez posted her best time for the 800m of 2:32.53 at the 2011 Willie Williams Classic and posted her best time for the 1,500m of 5:09.77 at the UTEP Invitational.
High School: Sanchez attended St. Pius X High School in Albuquerque, N.M. Sanchez had first or second all-academic team honors all four years and was a National Hispanic Scholar Honorable Mention selection. Sanchez was also all-state in 2007 for cross country and all-district in 2006 and 2007 for cross country.
Personal: Sanchez is the daughter of Leonard Sanchez and Jennifer Pollard. She was born in San Francisco, Calif., and plans to major in biology.
