Biography

2009 Outdoor (Junior): Flores was a strong competitor during the 2009 season.  At the WAC Track and Field Championships (May 13-16), Flores earned first team all-conference status after recording a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:35.19.

Indoor: During her third indoor season as an Aggie, Flores continued to be a solid threat in the distance events.  At the prestigious Washington Invitational (Jan. 30), Flores placed 18th in the 5,000-meter run after recording a time of 17:54.31.  At the Northern Arizona Invitational (Feb. 14), Flores clocked a 3,000-meter run time of 10:14.02.

Cross Country: Flores capped off the 2008 season as one of the top runners on the team.  She led the Aggies across the line in three of the seven races and registered five top 6 performances throughout the year, was named the WAC runner of the week for two consecutive weeks and earned a spot on the second team All-WAC for her 13th-place finish at the WAC Championships in Las Cruces, N.M.  Flores recorded a pair of second-place finishes on the season; the first at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 12), with a time of 15:59.91 and the second was at the Aggies' home meet, the Kachina Classic (Sept. 20), with a time of 18:46.  Her speediest 5k time of the season was 17:38 and came at the Santa Clara Invitational (Oct. 18), when she recorded a sixth-place finish overall and second across as an Aggie, which placed NM State fifth overall.  Flores also helped the Aggies get the season off on the right foot when she led the Aggies to a third-place team finish, as well as a third-place individual finish at the season opener, the Lobo Invitational (Sept. 6), in Albuquerque, N.M.

2008 Outdoor (Sophomore): Flores had a break-out season for NM State, as she competed in the distance events during the outdoor season.  Flores was the only runner to excel her game to the next phase and participate at the 2008 NCAA Midwest Regional Meet, in Lincoln Neb., after winning the 5000-meter run at the WAC Championships (May 15-17).  During the regional meet, Flores placed ninth overall and clocked a time of 17:42.86, six-hundredths of a second slower than her personal-best.  Her personal-best time of 17:42.80 was set at the Ram Open (April 12) in Fort Collins, Colo., and was also a strong enough time to place her fourth on the NM State all-time record list.  In the 1,500-meter run, Flores recorded a season-best time of 4:45.83 at the UTEP Invitational, in El Paso, Texas (May 12).

Indoor: Flores competed in the distance events during the indoor season for NM State. At the Southwest Host Classic (Feb. 16), in Flagstaff, Ariz., Flores recorded a season-best mark in the mile run with a time of 5:24.74, which placed her seventh overall.  This mark also places her 10th on the NM State all-time record list.  At the WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 28-March 1), Flores recorded two season-best marks, the first was in the 3,000-meter run when Flores posted an eighth-place finish with a time of 18:58.38 and the second was in the 5,000-meter run when Flores clocked a time of 18:15.14, which was also good enough to rank fifth on the NM State all-time record list.

Cross Country:  Flores competed in all seven races for the Aggies in 2008, including being one of four Aggies to compete at the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships.  Flores recorded her fastest time of 19:02 at the Santa Clara Invitational, placing 77th overall.  Two weeks later, at the WAC Championships, Flores almost matched this with a 19:08 performance; this time placed her 51st overall.  She recorded her best finish of the year at the Kachina Classic, placing 13th overall in a time of 20:01.  At the regional championships, Flores placed 116th overall with a time of 25:19.

2007 (Freshman) Outdoor: Flores did not compete in the outdoor season.

Indoor: At the Texas Tech Open (Feb. 3), Flores competed in the mile run and recorded a season best time of 5:46.89. She also competed in the 5,000-meter run at the Sooner Invitational (Feb. 18) and finished with a time of 19:00.30.

Cross Country: Flores competed in six of the seven races during the season. She posted her best mark of the season at the Auburn Invitational with a time of 18:23, placing 47th overall. At the WAC Championships, Flores finished 24th, recording a time of 18:50.
