2012 Cross Country (Junior): Padilla
competed in every event for the Aggies in the 2012 cross country season,
posting great results in many of the meets.
Padilla's best overall performance came at the Lori Fitzgerald
Invitational (Sept. 7) where she finished first for NM State and fourth overall
with a time of 19:06.88 in the 5K.
Padilla finished in the top five for NM State in three other meets for
the Aggies. Padilla finished fifth for
NM State and 12th overall at the Lobo Invitational (Aug. 31) in a time of
19:48.2. At the Kachina Classic (Sept.
15), Padilla finished third for NM State and seventh overall with a time of
18:50. Padilla ran her best time of the
season at the Bronco Invitational (Oct. 13) when she finished third for NM
State and 38th overall with a time of 17:57.7.
2012 Outdoor (Sophomore): Padilla
was named to the WAC All-Academic team in the 2012 season. Padilla concluded
an impressive freshman season by running the 1,500m and 5,000m for the Aggies
in the 2012 outdoor season. Padilla ran her best 1,500m time at the 2012
Texas State Bobcat Classic (April 27), posting a time of 4:51.56.
Padilla's best time in the 5,000m came at the WAC Championships (May 8) when
she ran a time of 18:15.99, placing her 10th overall. Padilla also ran
the 3,000m steeplechase at the WAC Championships to place ninth overall.
2012 Indoor (Sophomore): Padilla was named to the second
team all-WAC for the distance medley. Padilla was named to the academic
all-WAC team in 2012. Padilla ran the 1-mile and the 3,000m during the
2012 indoor season. Padilla posted her season-best time for the 1-mile at
the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (Feb. 3) with a time of 5:23.37.
Padilla posted her best time in the 3,000m at the New Mexico Cherry and Silver
Invitational (Jan. 20). Padilla also competed in the 4,000m distance
medley at the WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 23).
Cross Country 2011 (Sophomore): Padilla
only ran in the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 10), posting a time of
22:17.7 in the 5,080m.
Outdoor 2011 (Freshman): Padilla
ran a variety of events during the season, a majority of which was the 3,000m
steeple and the 800m. Padilla posted her best time for the 3,000m steeple
at the WAC Outdoor Championships with a time of 11:25.8. Padilla ran her
best time for the 800m at the Texas Tech Open with a time of 12:10.2, as well
as posting a time of 4:58.9 in the 1,500m at the same meet.
Indoor 2011 (Freshman): Padilla
mostly ran the one-mile event, posting a season best time of 5:50.7 at the New
Mexico Cherry & Silver Invitational. Padilla also ran the 3,000m at
the New Mexico Collegiate Classic & Combined with a tie of 11:09.2.
Cross Country 2010 (Freshman): Padilla
contributed significantly to the Aggies' cross country season in 2010 by
running in five races. In just her first race as an Aggie, Padilla
finished 21st overall and fourth for NM State with a time of 18:52.5 at the
Lobo Invitational. At the Kachina Classic, Padilla finished 15th overall
and fifth for NM State with a time of 18:52.0. At Pre-Nationals at
Indiana State, Padilla placed seventh for NM State with a time of
24:39.3. Padilla also competed in the WAC Championships, finishing 54th
overall and eight for NM State with a time of 19:42.2.
High School: Padilla
helped her team to a state championship in cross country in 2008 at Rio Rancho
High School in Rio Rancho, N.M., and was named Rio Rancho High School Athlete
of the Year to go along with lettering in track and field and cross country all
four years. Padilla was also first team all-district cross country in 2006,
2008, 2009, and was first team academic all-district in cross country for four
years. Padilla was also named to the All-Harrier Team 2009. Padilla has
personal records of 18:51 in the 5K, 5:25 in the 1600m, 2:22 in the 800m and
11:53 in the 3200m.
Personal: Padilla is
the daughter of Derek and Leslie Padilla. She was born in Albuquerque, N.M.,
and plans to major in civil engineering.
