Biography

2009 Outdoor (Freshman):  Beach was a strong sprinter for the Aggies last season.  She recorded a pair of season-best performances during the Aggies' tune-up weekend, before the 2009 WAC Championships.  At the Azusa Invitational (April 17), Beach clocked a time of 25.87 in the 200-meter dash and a day later, at the Long Beach State Invitational (April 18), she crossed the finish line in a time of 57.87 in the 400-meter run.

Indoor: Beach competed in the sprints for the Aggies during her first indoor season at NM State.  At the New Mexico Cherry and Silver Invitational (Jan. 24), Beach posted a season-best time of 26.50 in the 200-meter dash.  During the final tune-up of the season, before the WAC Championships, Beach had a season-best 400-meter performance at the Northern Arizona Invitational (Feb. 14). Her time in that race (58.39) helped her to claim the fifth spot on the Aggies all-time records list. Beach is also part of two distance medley relay teams that currently hold eighth and ninth in the Aggie record book. She is part of a 4x400 relay team that holds the top spot in the record books with a time of 3:52.93. Her name is etched on the same list in seventh and 10th as well.

High School:  Beach is a 2008 graduate of Irving High School in Irving, Texas, where she lettered in track and field all four years and three for cross country.  A stand-out sprinter, Beach led the Tigers to back-to-back district championships her sophomore and junior seasons and a third-place finish as a senior.  She was a regional qualifier from 2005-08, as well as a state qualifier in the 4x100 and 4x200-meter relays from 2006-07 and was an all-district honoree from 2005-08.  During her senior season she set a personal-best time and school record in the 800-meter run (2:21) and as a junior she recorded her fastest time in the 400-meter run (55.7).  In her first season of high school, she set her fastest times in the 100-meter run (11.9) and in the 200-meter run (24.77), which was also a school record.  In cross country, she brought home silver medals at the district race both as a sophomore and junior.  She also placed ninth at the regional meet her junior season and fourth at the district meet as a senior.

Personal:  Beach is the daughter of James Beach, Maria Beach and stepfather Michael Bueno.  She is majoring in graphic design.
