Biography

2012 Cross Country (Freshman): Raymond began his collegiate career with the Aggies with strong performances throughout the entire 2012 cross country season.  Raymond finished in the top five overall for NM State in five of the eight events he competed in for the season.  Raymond's best team finish came at the WAC Championships (Oct. 27) when he finished second for NM State and 16th overall with a time of 24:25.28 in the 8K.  Raymond's best overall finish came at the Kachina Classic when he finished 10th overall and fifth for NM State with a time of 26:03 in the 8K.  Raymond posted his best 8K time of the season at the Lobo Invitational (Aug. 31) when he ran a time of 20:30.7.  Raymond also performed well at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships when he finished third for NM State and 72nd overall with a time of 32:19.1 in the 10K. 

High School: Raymond attended ESC Theriault in Timmins, Ontario, where he ran track and cross country from 2008-11.  Raymond ran the 6K in 2008 and the 7K from 2009-11.  Raymond helped his team win the NEOAA championship in all four years, as well as third in the province in 2009, second in the province in 2008 and 2010 and first in the province in 2011.  Raymond is the junior school record holder and the 2012 SEOAA record holder for the 1,500m.  He was also named to Team Ontario for the 800m and the 1,500m in 2010. 

Personal: Raymond was born in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, and is the son of Reid and Lucie Raymond.  He plans to major in criminal justice.
