Biography

2011 (Junior): Williams ran in all but one event for NM State during the 2011 season.  Williams posted his best time of the season at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree (Oct. 1) with a time of 25:43.28, good for fourth for NM State.  Williams placed in the top five for NM State in two other events.  Williams placed fifth for NM State at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships (Nov. 12) with a time of 33:03.2 in the 10K and fourth for NM State at the Pre-Nationals (Oct. 16) with a time of 25:49 in the 8K.

2010 (Sophomore): Williams had a strong season in 2010. Williams competed in all but one race for NM State with several strong finishes. Williams had his best time of the year at one of the largest meets in the country the Paul Short Invite (Oct. 1), in Terre Haute, Ind. He finished with a time of 25:17 placing 116th. Williams had his best finish of the year at the Kachina Classic (Sep. 18), where he finished tenth and clocked in with a time of 25:49.4. Williams also excelled at the WAC Championships (Oct. 30) after placing 21st in a time of 25:48 and at the NCAA Mt. Regional where he crossed the line in 32:58.6 and placed 90th.

2009 (Red shirt Freshman): Williams competed in seven races for the Aggies where he scored in two and helped the Aggies to place fourth in the 2009 WAC Championships. He placed 12th at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (9/10) by crossing the line in 21:47. At the Bronco Invitational (10/17), Williams earned his best 8k time in 25:57 where he was the fifth Aggie to cross the line and score for NM State.

2008 (Freshman): Williams redshirted during the 2008 season.

High School: Williams is a 2008 graduate of Mansfield Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas, where he lettered in cross country three times.  He led the Wolves to three consecutive District 15-4A Championships and was selected to the all-district team as a junior and senior.  He posted a second-place finish at the district meet and qualified for the Congress Avenue Mile All-Star Race.  His fastest 5K time was 16:02, three-mile time is 15:29, two-mile time is 9:52 and mile time was 4:27.

Personal: Williams is the son of Terry and Jessie Williams and is majoring in mechanical engineering.
