Biography
2010-11: Lang competed in both Equitation over Fences and Equitation on the Flat in 2010-11. In Equitation over Fences, Lang compiled a record of 2-8 with wins over Fresno State (10/20) and South Carolina (3/19). Her lone MVP honor came against Fresno State. On the Equitation on the Flat, Lang was 0-1 on the season. She also competed in Equitation over Fences at the 2011 Varsity Equestrian National Championships. She was given the Hunter Seat Work Horse Award at the end of the year banquet.
2009-10: Lang competed in Equitation over Fences for the Aggies in 2009-10. She tallied a 2-6 record in Equitation over Fences, recording wins against TCU (10/24) and South Carolina (11/21). She was also an alternate in Equitation over Fences at the Varsity Equestrian National Championships. Lang was elected to be a Hunter Seat team captain in 2010-11 and was awarded Most Improved honors at the team banquet.
2008-09: Lang had a successful freshman season. She competed in both Equitation on the Flat (1-7) and Equitation over Fences (8-4). Lang earned five MVP awards during the season against Kansas State, Georgia, South Dakota State, West Texas A&M and Delaware State. She also had wins in the Equitation over Fences competition against Fresno State, TCU and Baylor. She was named Most Valuable Rider for the Hunter Seat squad at the team awards banquet.
High School: Lang graduated from Star Charter School in Austin, Texas, which offers a curriculum for students with outside activities such as competitive sports. Lang was a National Honor Society officer and served as a volunteer in the equestrian program at a facility for mentally-challenged adults. Early in high school, Lang was a cheerleader and a member of FFA. Lang began riding at age 5, and has won more than 70 Champion and Reserve Champion titles from USEF A-rated shows in Texas, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arizona and Mississippi. In 2008, she was awarded Circuit Grand Champion in Adult Amateur Hunter at the Blue Ribbon Summer Festival. In 2007, Lang was the USHJA Foundation year-end Reserve Champion in Large Junior Hunter 16-17 for Zone 7 and qualified for the USEF National Junior Hunter Championships. In 2006, she was the Texas Hunter/Jumper Association (THJA) year-end Reserve Champion in Children's Hunter 14-17 and the Southwest Show Series (SWSS) year-end Champion for Children's Hunter Classics. Prior to that year, Lang was the 2005 THJA and 2005 SWSS year-end Champion in Children's Hunter 14-17; and the SWSS year-end Champion for Children's Hunter Classics. In 2004, Lang was the THJA and SWSS year-end Champion in Large Pony Hunter. She qualified for the indoor shows at Washington D.C. and Harrisburg, Pa., and competed in Medal and Hunter at the USEF National Pony Finals. Lang was trained in Texas by Donna Cheney.
Personal: Lang was born in Austin, Texas. She has a younger sister, Megan, and is the daughter of Tom and Anne Lang. Lang is majoring in animal science with an emphasis in equine.
