Competed in both Equitation over Fences and Equitation on the Flat… Earned a 5-5 record in both events… Earned Most Outstanding Player honors twice in Equitation over Fences… Earned Most Outstanding Player honors twice in Equitation on the Flat… Twice named United Equestrian Conference Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Month… Once named United Equestrian Conference Equitation over Fences Rider of the Month… Once named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Rider of the Month for Equitation on the Flat… Undefeated in post season play in Equitation on the Flat… Competed at the National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship Tournament in both Equitation on the Flat and Equitation over Fences… Named NM State Equestrian Most Outstanding Player for Equitation on the Flat. Named to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Academic First Team.

2013-14: Solomon was seen competing in nine meets for NM State in Equitation over Fences during the 2013-2014 season. She tallied two wins – the first against South Carolina (2/1), and the second, her most impressive win thus far, against West Texas A&M, winning by 36.0 over her opponent. She competed in the NCEA National Championship for NM State earning one of the two points in the discipline for the Aggies. Solomon earned the win over her opponent scoring 155 compared to her opponents 146 score. Solomon was named to the NCEA Academic second team and the NCEA Academic Honor Roll for the 2014 season.

2012-13: In her rookie season Newkirk competed in the Reining for the Aggies, earning three wins against Ohio State (9/22), Baylor (2/2) and West Texas A&M (10/13). Her season high score of 75.5 against Baylor’s Katherine Berg earned her the MOP award.

High School: Newkirk graduated from Porterville High School and was a three-year scholar athlete while serving as co-captain of the Porterville water polo team. In 2010, Newkirk was the Valley Cow Horse Association Reserve High Point Youth Limited Champion, while claiming multiple wins in National Reined Cow Horse Association events throughout California, Nevada, and Arizona.  

Personal: Newkirk is from Porterville, California and is the daughter of Monty and Dana Newkirk.  She is majoring in education at NM State.  She currently trains with Russell Dilday.
