Biography
2012-13: Wilson competed in the Reining for the Aggies. She notched wins over Kansas State, West Texas A&M (10/13), Fresno State (3/1), and South Dakota State (3/2). Wilson represented the Aggies at the NCEA National Championship (4/18-20) and was named to the 2013 second team NCEA Academic Honor Roll. Wilson was awarded the inaugural Best All-Around Student-Athlete award at the team banquet for her outstanding efforts in the arena, in the classroom, in the weight room, and in service to her community.
2011-2012: Wilson was a starter in Reining in 2011-12. She earned a 6-8-1 record and earned two MVPs on the season. Wilson’s wins came against West Texas A&M (9/18), Sacred Heart (10/20), South Carolina (10/29), Delaware State (10/21), South Dakota State (11/19), and TCU (2/25). She earned MVP accolades against South Carolina and South Dakota State. Wilson earned a high score of 73 against South Carolina’s Layla Choate. Wilson rode for the Aggies in Reining at the NCEA Championship in Waco, Texas (4/12-14). The National Collegiate Equestrian Association awarded Wilson with 2012 Academic All-American first team honors. Wilson was awarded the Western Workhorse award at the 2012 Equestrian Banquet.
2010-11: Wilson competed in Reining for the Aggies in 2010-11. She earned an overall record of 2-6 with wins over Oklahoma State (2/12) and Tennessee-Martin (3/26). She also competed at the 2011 Varsity Equestrian National Championships in Reining. Wilson was named the Western team’s Rookie of the Year at the end of the year banquet.
High School: Wilson was a 2010 honors graduate of Tolar High School and was a member of FFA, the track and field and basketball teams. She earned top 10 finishes at the AJPHA World Championship Show in Western Horsemanship and Cutting. Wilson also won third place in the Hunt Seat Equitation at the Youth Team Tournament at the AJPHA World Championship Show. She won high-point awards at the APHA Houston Livestock Show, APHA San Antonio Livestock Show, APHA Fort Worth Livestock Show as well as many top finishes at 4-H/FFA Horse Judging Contests across Texas.
Personal: Wilson is from Tolar, Texas and is the daughter of Earnest and Cheri Wilson. She is majoring in elementary education at NM State.
