Biography

2006: Jolla will be one of the Aggies starting wide receivers in 2006. He was also named one of the nation’s top-30 transfers by CollegeFootballNews.com.

 

Miami: Jolla transfers from the University of Miami where he played three seasons (2002, 2004 & 2005). During his time at Miami, Jolla caught 24 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns. Last season, Jolla played in 10 games and caught four passes for 47 yards. His most productive season for the Hurricanes was in 2004 when he caught 15 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown, including a career-high four catches for 43 yards against Clemson. In 2003, Jolla received a medical redshirt and did not see the playing field.

 

High School: Coming out of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, La., Jolla was rated as a top 5 receiver by numerous scouting services and was rated the nation's #41 prospect (regardless of position) by Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report. He earned first-team All-State honors as a senior he had 34 catches for 915 yards and 11 touchdowns. Jolla was also an All-District and All-Parish selection that season. As a junior, Jolla recorded 30 receptions for 516 yards and seven touchdowns. He was also a letterwinner in basketball and track & field, earning All-State honors in the 200 & 400-meter dash and both relay teams.

 

Personal: Akieem is the son of Letha Jolla. He plans to major in Liberal Arts.
