2006 (Freshman): Gibson was the Aggies back-up quarterback in 2006, playing in six games. On the season he threw for 176 yards on 23-of-38, with only three interceptions. He also rushed for 26 yards and a touchdown. Against Nevada (10/28), Gibson came in after starting quarterback Chase Holbrook went out with an injury, throwing for 61 yards on 10-of-19 passing. Versus Utah State (11/25) Gibson again stepped in for an injured Holbrook, leading the Aggies to their first WAC win. He recorded his first career rushing touchdown on an eight yard quarterback sneak to the right side of the field. Alex went 6-of-9 for 44 yards versus Utah State. Against Texas Southern Gibson connected on 5-of-7 passing for 57 yards.

High School: Alex was a two sports letter winner in football and basketball. In 2005, he helped lead his team to a 10-0 record and a conference championship. He earned honorable mention all-State honors as well as second team all-Metro and all-Conference. During his career, Alex compiled 4,250 yards passing, 48 passing touchdowns and 12 rushing touchdowns. He compiled a 23-7 record during his high school career. Alex was also an outstanding basketball player breaking the scoring, rebounding, steals and blocked shots for his high school.

Personal: Alex is the son of Mike and Margaret Gibson. He plans to major is Business while at NSMU.
