Biography

2008 (Sophomore): Mead redshirted in his second season with the Aggies in 2008.

 

2007 (Freshman): Mead played in eight games for the Aggies, seeing limited action in the Aggies’ first four games of the season. Mead was a kick-off specialist for the Aggies in 2007, returning six kicks for 118 yards. Against San Jose State (11/10) Mead returned one kick-off for a season-long 34 yards. Versus Boise State (10/7) he returned two kicks for 38 yards. Mead also returned kicks against Fresno State (11/30), Idaho (10/20) and Hawai’i (10/27).

 

High School: Brian is Clovis High Schools All-time leading rusher, breaking a 21 year old record held by his coach Darren Kelly who was a High School All-American.  He finished his high school career with 4,266 yards on 644 carries, 55 touchdowns, 10 200+ yard games including a 312 yard 5 touchdown effort against Hobbs, all are school records.  He played in 31 consecutive games, 25 as the starting runningback.  Brian is a 3 year Letter winner in Football playing for Eric Roanhaus, 2002 inductee to the National High School Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame., lettered 4 years in Track.  He has played on Three District 4-5A Championship teams.  As a senior in 2006 he ran for 2,183 yards and 33 touchdowns leading his team to the state quarterfinals with a 7-4 record, lead state in rushing and scoring.  As a junior led his team to a 12-2 record finished as Clovis finished the state runner-up.  As a sophomore played on a state runner-up team.  Brian was named 2006 Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year in USA Today. Other awards include: 2006 New Mexico 5A Player of the Year Scout.com, Prep Star Magazine All Regional Player, Selected to play in the New Mexico 4A-5A North-South All Star game, two-time 1st Team All-State Selection, two-time 1st Team All-District 4-5A selection, 2006 District 4-5A Offensive Player of the Year, Amarillo Globe News Super Team, two-time selection to Amarillo Globe News 4A-5A Golden Spread Team, two-time team MVP, Team Captain 2006, New Mexico Gameday Player of the Week Sept 5th 2006, #1 All-purpose back in NM Rivals.com #10 overall recruit.  He is a four time state qualifier in the 110 hurdles, 2 time District 4-5A Champion with a career best of 14.12, also finishing 3rd in state as a junior.

 

Personal: Brian is the son of John and Carolyn Mead. He is undecided in his major.
