2005: Chase is listed as the number one left end for the Aggies going into the fall. He is the Aggies only four-year defensive lineman.
2004 (Junior): Spicer was once again a constant for the Aggies at defensive tackle in his junior season, starting the first four games of the season, while playing all 11 games for NMSU. He finished with a career-high 37 total tackles, 12 of them solo. Spicer compiled a career-high seven tackles in the opening game of the season at Arkansas (9/4), finishing with three solo tackles, four assists and a tackle for a loss of one yard. Spicer also compiled his first career pass breakup against Florida International (10/30) and his first career sack for nine yards at North Texas (10/23).
2003 (Sophomore): Chase had a solid sophomore season, starting all 12 games at defensive tackle and finishing with 26 total tackles. Spicer had a career high five tackles against New Mexico (9/27) and Arkansas State (11/1). His five tackles against the Lobos were all solo. Chase also had four tackles against Oregon State (9/13), including a tackle for loss and four against Idaho (10/4) and five against Arkansas State (11/1). He had three tackles including a quarterback sack against North Texas (11/25)
in the third quarter.
2002 (Redshirt Freshman): Chase played in four games in 2002, including the last three games of the season and had three tackles in the second half of the Aggies’ 35-31 win over Idaho (11/23) in the season finale.
2001 (Freshman): Spicer was a redshirt his first season at NMSU.
High School: Spicer was a second team All-State pick his junior year and a Super State pick his senior year at
Southeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Personal: Chase was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, and is the son of Debbie and Jim Fischer and Gary and Jodi Spicer. He is majoring in Criminal Justice.
