Biography

 

2011 (Junior): Quiroga saw action in all 13 games for the Aggies in 2011 as a tight end and on special teams. At tight end, Quiroga caught three passes for 29 yards and a touchdown. His lone touchdown of the season came against Minnesota (Sept. 10), as the Aggies defeated their first Big Ten opponent. He also caught a ball against San Jose State (Sept. 24) and Utah State (Dec. 3). On special team, Quiroga had four kick returns for 56 yards and tallied 16 tackles. Against UTEP (Sept. 17), Quiroga collected a season-high four tackles.

2010 (Sophomore): Quiroga played in 11 games for the Aggies in 2010 as a linebacker and on special teams. He grabbed 10 tackles on the season, two solo efforts. Quiroga recorded a career-high four tackles against UTEP (Sept. 18) and two tackles in the season opener against San Diego State (Sept. 11). He also tallied one tackle in four other games during the season.

2009 (Freshman): Quiroga played on special teams as a true freshman in 2009. He recorded seven tackles on the season.

High School: Quiroga is a product of Ayala High School and concluded his four-year campaign as a highly decorated athlete.  As a senior, the running back and wide receiver was named the Sierra League Most Valuable Player, one of the Inland Empire's Top 10 players by the Los Angeles Times, named first team All-CIF Central Division and the team's offensive MVP.  He rushed for 670 yards on 100 carries and scored nine touchdowns, caught 36 passes for 475 yards and five touchdowns and returned 12 kicks for 300 yards. Quiroga also had 75 tackles and three interceptions for 70 yards. He tallied 1,514 all-purpose yards. He also ranked 12th in Southern California in receiving yards and seventh in the total receptions and in the state of California, Quiroga was 22nd in receiving yards and eight in total receptions.  Nationally, Quiroga was in the top 100 for receiving yards. As a junior, Quiroga recorded 72 receptions for 1,096 yards and 10 touchdowns. He carried the ball 51 times for 282 yards and scored four times. He had eight kickoff returns for 203 yards. He totaled 1,581 all-purpose yards and scored 14 touchdowns. Quiroga led the Sierra League in receptions, reception yards and total touchdowns. He was honored by the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame as an all-San Bernardino County Football Team selection (one of two juniors selected).

Personal: Quiroga is the son of John and Bernadette Quiroga. He plans to major in journalism.
