Biography

2009 Outdoor (Freshman): In her second year in Crimson and White, Pharies competed in the jumping events and the short sprints.  She recorded a season-best time at the Azusa Invitational (April 17) when she registered a time of 13.38 in the 100-meter dash.  At the UTEP Springtime Invitational (March 28), Pharies recorded a leap of 15-9.75 in the long jump.


Cross Country:
Pharies competed in a pair of races for the Aggies last season.  The first was the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 12) when she crossed the line 23rd in a time of 20:34.58. The second race of the season was the Kachina Classic (Sept. 20), in Las Cruces, N.M., when Pharies recorded a time of 24:49.2 and placed 51st overall.


High School:  
Pharies is a 2008 graduate of Roy High School in Roy, N.M., where she lettered in track and field for five years (8th-12th) and volleyball and basketball for two years.  During her senior and junior seasons, she was a 10 time state champion in multiple events which include the long jump, 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash 400-meter run and in the medley relay. During her senior season she was a state champ in the triple jump.  Pharies was a four time district 1A high point winner, a five time state qualifier, a two time class 1A state high point female athlete and five-time Roy Longhorn high point winner.  She also holds seven school records and they are in the 100-meter dash (12.3), 200-meter dash (26.15), 400-meter dash (58.64), 800-meter run (2:25.75), the long jump (17-9.25), the triple jump (36-0) and the medley relay (4:32.85).  


Personal:
 Pharies is the daughter of Paul and Diana Pharies.  She is majoring in biology/ pre-med.
