2004 (Junior): Sober had a good year with a total of 47 tackles in 11 games played, starting the last seven games of the season. He also recorded six tackles for a loss of 16 yards, collected three sacks, forced one fumble and intercepted two passes. Against Florida Atlantic (11/13), Sober recorded a career-high seven tackles. Sober also recorded four games with six tackles versus UTEP (10/2), UL-Lafayette (10/9), Middle Tennessee (11/6) and Utah State (11/20). Versus Middle Tennessee (11/6), Sober had two sacks for a loss of five yards and grabbed two interceptions. Sober’s two interceptions was a team high for a single game. Junior College (2002-03): Sober led Fullerton College with 122 tackles in 13 games in 2003. He was a two-year starter at inside linebacker. He had 188 tackles in 23 career games. He was the team’s leading tackler in 2003 and led the Hornets to a Mission Conference National Division title and eight wins over ranked teams. Fullerton posted an 8-2 regular season record. He was a unanimous, first team All-Mission Conference National Division pick this season, helping the Hornets bounce back from a 3-7 season in 2002. Fullerton went on to win in the first two rounds of the California Community College playoffs before losing in the semifinals. He had 12 tackles in the semifinal loss to Grossmont. Sober had 66 tackles (31 solos, 35 assisted) as a freshman.

High School: Sober was a four year letterwinner at Fullerton High School.
