2009 (Junior): Barton was the starting left tackle for the Aggies in all 13 games during the 2009 season. He earned a season high of 44 knockdowns with 14 coming in the last three games. Barton tallied a season-high 11 knockdowns at San Jose State (1/28). His seven knockdowns against Utah State (10/10), helped the Aggies to a 20-17 victory over the USU Aggies. Barton and the Aggie offense allowed just 23 sacks on the year. In 2008, the Aggie offense allowed 44.  On the season, he also helped NM State average 229.3 offensive yards per game. He helped running back Seth Smith to become the first Aggie since 2000 to break 1,000-rushing yards in a single season. At Hawai’i (11/14), Barton earned his best offensive line grade in a single game with 75 percent. He had seven games during the 2009 season with a perfect assignment rating. This was the most for any offensive lineman on the year.

City College of San Francisco: Barton was a standout offensive lineman and tight end for City College of San Francisco from 2007 to 2008. He helped the Rams tally a 19-4 record during his two years, including the 2007 California State Championship with a 12-1 record. In 2008, Barton was named to the Southern California Grid Wire Top 100 list for junior college players. In 2007, Barton helped his team to a bowl game, losing to Delta College. 

High School: Barton played both offensive line and defensive line for Oak Park High School. As a senior, he was named to the All-North team, helping his team to a league championship and a spot in the second round of the state playoffs. Barton also played basketball for Oak Park High School.

Personal: Barton is the son of Lisa Wright. He is majoring in criminal justice.
