College of the Sequoias: Padilla was a starting linebacker for College of the Sequoias in 2009. He only played one year for the Giants. Padilla tallied 26 tackles on the season, including one sack and four tackles for a loss. He was named a second team all-conference pick in 2009. Padilla transferred to College of the Sequoias from Fresno State in 2008. He did not play for the Bulldogs in his two years at the school.

High School: Padilla was a standout fullback and linebacker for Clovis East. He helped Clovis East to a league championship and valley championship in 2004 and 2005, as Padilla and his team recorded a 21-3 record over those two seasons. Padilla was named to the North/South All-Star game as a senior as well as the City County All-Star game. He was named Athlete of the Year at Clovis East High School in 2005. Padilla earned first team all-league in 2004 and second team all-league in 2005.

Personal: Padilla is the son of Terry Padilla and was also raised by his grandmother Helen Mazzei. He plans to major in communications while at NM State.
