Biography
2010 (JUNIOR):
Brennan had another great year as she was named a first team All-WAC
selection for the second consecutive year.
Other honors include a 2010 Preseaon All-WAC honor and being named to
the Florida State Invitational all-tournament team. Brennan played in 104 sets and led the team
and was seventh in the WAC with a .300 hitting percentage. She was third on the team in kills averaging
2.26 per set. Brennan played in 10
matches where she tallied a hitting percentage of .400 or higher, and marked a
season-high .727 hitting percentage against CSU-Bakersfield (9/1) when she
picked up nine kills on 11 attempts with only one error. She had nine matches
with double-digit kill figures with a season-high 13 kills against Florida
International (8/27) and Boise State (10/14). She was second on the team with
84 total blocks on the year and had a season-high seven blocks against LSU
(9/11).
2009 (SOPHOMORE):
Brennan had a standout sophomore season as she was named a first team
All-WAC and a WAC All-Tournament team selection. She led a team that was ranked
20th nationwide in blocks per set.
Brennan averaged 1.17 blocks per set and ended the year with 121 total
blocks, 16 of them solo. Her hitting
percentage of .319 ranked third in the WAC, while she ranked fifth in the
league in blocks. Brennan played in 13 matches where she posted a .400 hitting
percentage or better. She set a
season-high .800 hitting percentage against Boise State (11/24), when she hammered
down eight kills on 10 attempts without a single error. Brennan posted a
career-high 18 kills against I-10 rival UTEP (9/8), while also marking a
career-high 10 total blocks. She posted
10 kills on 18 attempts with only one error for a .600 hitting percentage when
the Aggies traveled to El Paso to face the Miners (9/22). She earned double-digit kill figures in WAC
play against Louisiana Tech (10/10), San Jose State (10/15 and 10/24) and Idaho
(10/29 and 11/7).
2008 (FRESHMAN): Brennan gained valuable experience as a
freshman as she played in 26 matches and tallied 45 kills with a .228 hitting
percentage. She also pitched in
defensively with 32 total blocks averaging almost one block per set. Brennan picked up the first two kills of her
career against Illinois (8/30) and followed that with two more kills against
North Carolina (8/30) in the State Farm Illini Classic. She picked up three kills on four attempts at
Idaho (9/25) and had her best match of the season against Louisiana Tech
(10/30), when she had six kills on seven attempts with zero errors for a .857
hitting percentage. In the final regular
season match of the season, against Virginia Commonwealth (11/27), Brennan
slammed down a season-high seven kills on 14 attempts and did not commit a
single error. She was also in on five
blocks and added one dig.
HIGH SCHOOL: Brennan came to New Mexico State after
graduating from Monroe High School in Monroe, Wash. A four-year letterwinner in volleyball,
Brennan helped her team to a third-place finish in district in 2005 and
second-place district finishes in 2006 and 2007. The team finished 13-1 and
12-2 respectively under coach Dawn Hanson.
A multi-sport athlete, Brennan was not only a star middle hitter on the
volleyball team, but she was also a star post player for the Bearcat basketball
team and set the school record throwing the javelin and the shot put.
PERSONAL: Brennan is the daughter of Thomas and
Heidi Brennan. She is majoring in
athletic training.
