Biography

2007 (Sophomore): Young was the Aggies field goal and extra point kicker in 2007. Young led the team in scoring with 67 points. He was also 12-of-18 on field goal attempts and 31-of-34 on extra point attempts. Young made 23 extra point attempts in a row at one point during the season. Against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9/29) Young hit the game winning 37-yard field with seconds on the clock. He went 2-for-3 on field goal attempts in that game. Against Idaho (10/13) Young made a career-high six extra points. Versus Hawai’i he recorded a career long 41 yard field goal. Young ended the year with streaks of 25-of-26 extra points and 7-of-8 on field goal attempts.

 

2006 (Freshman - Hudson Valley CC): Young helped the Vikings to an 8-3 overall record and a third place finish in conference in 2006. He made a school record 48 yards field goal. He went 7-of-12 on field goals and 20-for-20 in extra points on the season. Young also had two on-side kicks that were recovered.

 

Fork Union Military Academy: While with the Bruins, Young went 6-of-8 on field goals and 52-of-53 on the extra point attempts. He was named the special teams MVP in 2005.

 

High School: Young played football, soccer and basketball. He helped his team to a district championships in soccer in 2004 and a second place finish in football in 2003. He was named all-District in football all four years of high school.

 

Personal: Paul is the son of John and Patrice Young. He plans to major in Business Management while at NMSU.
