Biography

2010 (Redshirt Junior): Escarsega played in five games for the Aggies at guard in 2010 before being sidelined with an injury for the remainder of the season. He recorded 13 knockdowns on the season, giving up just one sack with a 67 percent grade rating.

2009 (Junior): Escarsega did not play for the Aggies in 2009.

New Mexico Military Institute: Escarsega played two seasons for the Broncos. In 2007 he played 11 games at guard. Escarsega then made the switch from guard to offensive tackle in 2008, earning first team all-conference honors, accumulating the most first-place votes. In two seasons with the Broncos he did not allowed a sack.

High School: Escarsega was the De Valle High School Conquer's started tackle in 2005 and 2006. He helped his team to a bi-district championship in 2005 and a spot in the first round of the state playoffs in 2006. Escarsega was a two-time first team all-district selection, a first team all-City selection as a senior and an all-State honorable mention selection in 2006. During his senior season, Escarsega was selected to the state All-Star game where he was named the offensive line MVP for the East. He did not allow a single sack in his two years as a starter.

Personal: Escarsega is the son of Ruben Sr. and Graciela Escarsega. He plans to major is athletic training at NM State.
