Biography

2009 (Freshman): Atkinson redshirted his freshman year at NM State.

High School: Atkinson was a two-sport athlete at Mansfield Summit High School in football and baseball. During his football career, Atkinson threw for over 1,300 yards in just nine games played, passing for 12 touchdowns and rushing for five more. He was named the team’s most valuable player in 2008 and earned all-district honors in 2007 and 2008. In 2007-08 helped both the football team and baseball team to district championships.

Personal: Atkinson is the son of Ricky and Kathy Atkinson. He plans to major in kinesiology while at NM State.
