2004: Subia enters his senior season as one of the top offensive linemen in the Sun Belt Conference and is on the 2004 Outland Trophy Watch List. He was named a third team preseason all-America pick by Athlon Sports. He has made 24 consecutive starts.
2003 (Junior): Subia was a unanimous, first team all-Sun Belt Conference selection after starting all 12 games at right guard. NMSU was one of the top rushing teams in the nation last year, averaging 211.8 yards per game, tops in the Sun Belt Conference and 15th in the country.
2002 (Sophomore): Steve started all 12 games at right guard for the Aggies in 2002. He was part of an offensive line that helped the Aggies rank 14th in the nation in rushing (214.5) and 23rd in total offense (409.3).
2001 (Redshirt Freshman): Subia saw significant playing time in the Aggies first four games before suffering a concussion and missing the rest of the season.
2000 (Freshman): Subia redshirted his first season at NMSU.
High School: Steve was a three-year letterman at Lee High School in Midland, Texas. He was listed on the Texas Top 100 prior to his senior season by Rivals.com National Recruiting Network, one of 13 offensive linemen listed. He played on a Lee team that was tabbed national champion by USA Today in 1999. He was a part of Lee’s back-to-back state championship teams in 1998 and ?99, posting a combined 30-1 record during his junior and senior years. Steve was a first-team All-West Texas selection, a member of the all-state team and a two-time selection to All-District 4-5A team.
Personal: Steve Subia Jr. is the son of Steve Subia Sr. and Diana Esparza. Steve is majoring in Family and Child Science.
