2010
(Sophomore):
Johnson played in 10 games for the Aggies in 2010 on special teams and as a
running back. On the season, Johnson recorded nine yards rushing and 41 kick
return yards. Against No. 3 Boise State (Oct. 1), Johnson recorded eight yards
rushing on two carries, as well as a season-high 19 yards on two kick returns,
for 27 all-purpose yards. He also recorded kick returns against No. 18 Nevada
(Nov. 20) and Hawai’i (Nov. 27).
2009 (Redshirt
Freshman): Johnson played in seven games for the Aggies in 2009 on special teams.
Johnson tallied three tackles on the season. He recorded a tackle at New Mexico
(9/26), Nevada (11/17) and Boise State (12/5).
2008
(Freshman): Johnson redshirted during his first season with the Aggies.
High School: Johnson was a two-time
all-conference selection as a kickoff return specialist, running back and
defensive back for Mission Bay High School in San Diego. As a senior, he
tallied 1,500 all-purpose yards, 720 of those yards rushing, scoring nine
touchdowns on the season. Johnson also recorded 85 tackles and four
interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. In Johnson‘s junior season, he
had 1,200 all-purpose yards, scoring 10 touchdowns, with four of those
touchdowns on kickoff returns. Johnson also recorded 75 tackles and six
interceptions. As a sophomore, he tallied 25 tackles and an interception.
Johnson was an honor roll student and a member of the all-academic team all
four years of high school.
Personal: Johnson is the son of
Sherrell Tyler. He plans on majoring in marketing.
