2009 (Freshman): Diaz redshirted for the Aggies in 2009.

High School: Diaz was a four-year letter winner at Las Cruces High School. He played a multitude of positions, including running back, outside linebacker, safety and place kicker. As a place kicker, Diaz excelled setting state records for most career points (184) and most points in a season in 2008 with 87. Diaz helped Las Cruces High School to a district and state championship in 2008, while being named an all-State and all-district place kicker. He also earned all-State safety honors as well in 2008. As a junior, Diaz was an all-State safety and place kicker, earning all-District honors for both positions as well. He was also named an all-District place kicker his sophomore season.

Personal: Diaz is the son of Arthur Diaz and Monerva Balizan. He plans to major in pre-med while at NM State.
