Biography

 

2012 Outdoor (Junior): Larson received All-Academic Honors for the 2012 season.  competed in three meets for the Aggies in the 2012 outdoor season.  Larson ran the 1,500m at the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational (April 6) and the UTEP Springtime Invitational (March 24), posting her season-best time at the New Mexico Tailwind Invitational.  Larson also ran the 3,000m steeplechase in the season opener at the 2012 Willie Williams Invitational (March 16).

 

2012 Indoor (Junior): Larson was named to the academic all-WAC team in 2012.  Larson competed in the 1-mile and the 3,000m for the Aggies during the 2012 indoor season.  Larson posted her best finish in the 3,000m at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic (Feb. 3) and posted her best time in the 1-mile at the Texas Tech Open (Jan. 13).

2011 Cross Country (Junior): Larson received All-Academic Honors for the WAC in 2011.  Larson ran in four events for NM State during the 2011 season.  Larson posted her season-best time of 20:11.3 in the 6K at the Kachina Classic (Sept. 17).  Larson marked her season-best finish at the Grand Canyon Invitational (Oct. 8) when she placed ninth for NM State and 33rd.  Larson also ran the Lobo Invitational (Sept. 3) and the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational (Sept. 10).

2011 Outdoor (Sophomore): Larson ran a wide variety of events during the outdoor season, ranging from the 800m to the 3,000m.  Larson posted her best time for the 3,000m steeple at the 32nd Sun Angel Track Classic with a time of 11:57.5.  Larson's best time for the 800m and the 1,500m came at the 2011 Willie Williams Classic with a time of 2:36.9 in the 800m and a time of 5:15.9 in the 1,500m.

2011 Indoor (Sophomore): Larson ran the 3,000m for all but one of her events during the indoor season.  Larson's best time was posted at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic & Combined with a time of 11:37.4.

2010 Cross Country (Sophomore): Larson competed in three cross country meets for NM State, posting times all under 21 minutes.  Larson placed 43rd overall at the Lobo Invitational with a time of 20:44.3, good for 13th among NM State.  Larson placed 25th overall with a time of 20:09.6 at the Kachina Classic to earn the ninth best time for an Aggie.  Larson posted her best time at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational of 19:40.9 for 13th overall and seventh for NM State.

2010 Outdoor (Freshman): Larson did not competed during the outdoor season.

2010 Indoor (Freshman): Larson competed in the one-mile run for NM State during the indoor season, posting her best time of 6:17.5 at the UNM Lobo Opener.

2009 Cross Country (Freshman): Larson ran in four of the eight meets for NM State last season.  Larson's best finish came at the Duel in the Desert where she placed 14th overall.  Larson's fastest time happened at the Lobo Invitational where she finished in 20:35.3 for the women's 5K.

High School: Larson is a 2009 graduate of Los Alamos High School in Los Alamos, N.M. While running with the Hilltoppers, Larson was a four-time letter winner in track and earned three letters in cross country. She helped her 2006 cross country team to the state championship title as the fifth scorer. She was an all-district selection that year as well. The Hilltoppers placed in the top 3 at the state meet in track and field and cross country in 2007 and 2008. As a senior and team captain, Larson led her track team to a state and district title. She was also a top placer at the state track meet in the 1,600-meter run.

Personal: Larson is the daughter of Chance and Martie Larson and was born in Montana. She plans to major in education.
