Biography

(Junior) Indoor Track: Streater took second in the shot put (46-7) and fifth in the 20-pound weight throw (49-10.5) at the 2005 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships. Streater broke the school record in the indoor shot at the 2005 Wes Kittley Classic (1/29) with a toss of 48-05.25, while also finishing second in the 20-pound weight with a throw of 51-11.25, a personal best and good for second on the Aggies all-time performance list. Streater was named Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week for her school record-breaking performance. Outdoor Track: Streater competed at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet in the hammer throw and shot put. She finished 10th in the shot put with a toss of 47-0 and 13th in the hammer throw with a throw 176-10. After winning the hammer throw and the shot put at the 2005 Sun Belt Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Streater was named the Field Athlete of the Meet. Her shot put throw of 49-3 also broke the school record in that event. Erin would also break the school record in the hammer throw that year, at the Michael Johnson Classic with a heave of 181-7 her effort would qualify her for the NCAA Midwest Regional meet and earned her Sun Belt Conference Field Athlete of the Week honors for the second time that year. On the season, Streater collected nine top-10 finishes in the shot put, hammer throw and discus.

(Sophomore) Indoor Track: Led the Aggies in both the 20-pound weight throw and shot put in the indoor season. She took first place in the shot put at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships with a toss of 45-5.5, while placing third in the weight throw with a throw of 46.5”. Outdoor Track: Streater continued her dominance in the throwing events for the Aggies. She broke the school record in the hammer throw at the SBC Championship with a toss of 176’. She also earned Sun Belt Field Athlete of the Week (3/3) for her performance at the Stanford Invitational. Erin finished first in the hammer throw, second in the discus and third in the shot put at the 2004 Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships, scoring in all three events and helping NMSU to their second Sun Belt Conference title.

(Freshman) Indoor Track: She placed second in the shot put with a distance of 43-10 and placed fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 44-0.5 at the SBC Championships. Outdoor Track: She qualified at the NCAA Midwest Regionals in the shot put, throwing a career best 47-0.75 at the Willie Williams Invitational. She placed third at the conference championships in the shot put with a throw of 44-8.75, finished fourth at the SBC Championships in the discus with a distance of 150-05 and finished second at the SBC Championships in the hammer throw hurl of 156-05. She also threw a season best 102-07 in the javelin at the conference championships.

High School: She placed first in league in shot put and discus, first in CIF Southern Section in shot put and placed fourth in CIF for discus. She placed fifth in the state in shot put.

Personal: Streater is majoring in Kinesiology and is the daughter of Elmer Streater and Claudia Pinto. She was born in Orange, California.
