2008 Outdoor (Junior): Chea was a multi-event athlete for the Aggies and earned second team all-WAC status during the outdoor season. In the 100-meter hurdles she recorded her fastest time of the season in Colorado at the Ram Open (April 19) as she crossed the finish line in a time of 15.71. In the long and triple jump, Chea recorded season-best marks at the Don Kirby Memorial Invitational (May 3) with leaps of 18-2.50 and 37-4.50, respectively. In the Javelin Chea recorded a personal-best mark of 125-1, which ranks her eighth on the NMSU all-time list. At the 2008 WAC Championships (May 15-17) Chea recorded 4686 points in the heptathlon.
2007-08 Indoor: Chea was the only multi-event athlete on the Aggie squad during the indoor season. In the hurdles, Chea recorded her strongest time in the 55-meter hurdles at the Texas Tech Invitational (Jan. 26) with a time of 9.24. At the Southwest Classic (Feb. 16), in Tucson, Ariz., Chea stopped the clock at 9.61 in the 60-meter hurdles which was a season-best for her. In the Indoor Pentathlon, Chea recorded the most points of her career at the WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 28- March 1) totaling, 3025 points, this amount ranks her second on NMSU all-time record list. On the field, Chea competed in the jumps and the throws. In the long jump she recorded a season-best jump at the Southwest Classic Invitational (Feb. 16) with a leap of 16-09.75 and at the University of Washington Invitational (Feb. 1-2), Chea recorded her longest triple jump of the season with a mark of 34-06.25. In the high jump she recorded a jump of 4-11.50 at the WAC Indoor Championships (Feb. 28- March 1). Chea also competed in the shot for the Aggies during the indoor season. She posted her longest throw of the season at the Southwest Classic with a toss of 34-03.
2007 (Sophomore) Outdoor: Chea was a multi-event athlete throughout the outdoor season for the Aggies. Through her efforts, Chea recorded her name into the all-time outdoor records in the triple jump at fifth place. At the WAC Championships, she posted an eighth place finish in the heptathlon, recording marks in the 100-meter hurdles (16.49), high jump (4-09), shot put (34-02.25), 200-meter dash (26.74), long jump (17-02), javelin throw (116.02) and the 800-meter run (2:38.38). She also posted a mark of 17-03.25 in the long jump and a seventh place finish. At the Willie Williams Invitational (March 17), Chea recorded a time of 16.02 in the 60-meter hurdles and posted a mark of 38-4.75 in the triple jump. While at the Dr. Pepper Invitational (Feb. 17) she tallied a distance of 32.02.25 (eighth place) and 113-06 (seventh place) in the shot put and the javelin throw, respectively.
2006-07 Indoor: At the WAC Championships Chea posted a season best mark of 37-5 in the triple jump. At the Sooner Invitational (Feb. 18), Chea recorded a season best mark in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.70 and in the long jump with a leap of 17-10.25.
2006 (Freshman) Outdoor Track: At the WAC Outdoor Championships, Chea finished 11th in the long jump with a leap of 17-05.50 and a seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 37-05.00.
2005-06 Indoor: Chea competed in the WAC Indoor Championships and placed 20th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.68, 11th in the long jump with a leap of 17-08.75 and a 13th place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 36-00.
High School: Chea attended Silva Health Magnet High in El Paso, Texas. She also competed in volleyball, basketball, and track. She lettered in each sport multiple times and she was also track all-city most valuable player. Isabel was also part of the all-city and all-district volleyball and all-district basketball teams. She placed first in the long & triple jump at the junior regional and earned second place finish in the heptathlon.
Personal: Chea is the daughter of John and Bertha Chea and is pursuing a degree in kinesiology.
