Biography
Mesa Community College: Schmitt competed in shot put and hammer throw for two indoor and outdoor seasons. Schmitt’s personal best for shot put was 33.86m and 44.34m in the hammer.
High School: Schmitt competed in track and field in discus and shot put for Dobson High School in Mesa, Ariz. As a senior, Schmitt finished in first place and broke two records with a throw of 43’8” in 2011 at the Hohokam Invite for discuss. Schmitt also took second at Arizona’s Division 1 State Championships in the shot put. She finished second at the Sun Angel Track Classic in 2010 and 2011.
Personal: Schmitt is the daughter of Lisa and Alfred Schmitt and was born in Long Island, N.Y. She plans to major in Fire Science.
