Biography
2009 Outdoor (Freshman): In her first season in Crimson and White, Wood was a multi-event athlete that proved to be a consistent threat for the Aggies. Her debut season was highlighted with a fifth-place finish at the 2009 WAC Championships (May 13-16), after recording 4,425 points in the heptathlon. This feat earned her second team All-WAC honors. Also at the conference championships, Wood recorded a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:06.45. That time ranks her ninth on NM State's all-time record list.
Prior to NM State: Before transferring to NM State, Wood was a member of the University of Indianapolis basketball team and lettered during the 2007-08 season.
High School: Wood is a 2007 graduate of Smoky Hills High School in Denver, Colo., where she lettered all four-years in both track and field and basketball, along with two seasons in soccer. During her senior campaign, Wood was part of the 4x100 relay team that were state qualifiers, league champions and state finalists. She also ran the 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays that were league champions, regional champions, state qualifiers and was honored with all-state recognition. Wood holds the school record in the high jump (5-6.25) and the 4x100-meter relay. Her junior season was highlighted when she placed first in the pentathlon at the state meet.
Personal: Wood is the daughter of Thomas and Deanna Wood. She is majoring in business administration.
