1998-99: Hampered by injuries during the spring... Participated in three tournaments as a junior... Ranked second on the squad with a 75.6 stroke per round average despite playing in just three tournaments... Began the season with a 32nd-place finish at the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M... Placed 52nd at the 49er Collegiate Classic in Long Beach, Calif... Fired his low round of the year (74) in the third round of the Tucker.

1997-98: Represented Aggies in six tournaments... Tied for 23rd at the NCAA West Regional by shooting a three-round 218 including his lowest round of the season (69) in the third round... Fired a pair of 74's to place 14th at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate... Posted a 75.6 strokes per round average... Named Academic All-Big West.

1996-97: Played in five of NMSU's 10 tournaments as a freshman... Best finish came at the Stevensin Ranch Invitational with a two-round score of 152 for an eighth place finish... Shot low round of the season at NMSU's Herb Wimberly/Coca-Cola Classic with a third round total of 71... Finished in a tie for 22nd at the Coca-Cola with a score of 221... Averaged 77.2 strokes per round.

High School: Played four years of golf at Humble High School... Led team to district and regional championship and third-place finish at the state championships as a senior... Earned medalist honors at the regional championship while making it to the state finals the as a senior in 1996... State finalist as a junior in 1995, while winning the district championship... Led team to a fourth-place finish at the state finals in 1995... Advanced to the round of 16 of the U.S. Junior Amateur in 1995... Finished second in the Texas state qualifier in 1995 and won the title a year later in 1996... Recipient of the Houston Golf/Scholar of the Year Award in 1996 while finishing in the top-10 percent of his high school class.
