Junior:? Lozares had a break out season for the NMSU men’s golf team as he played in seven tournaments.? He averaged 74.29 strokes per round and finished in the top-20 three times. Lozares came up with a third place medal from the WAC Championships when he shot a 4-under-par 220, which included rounds of 69-77-74, which was his best finish of the year.? His first top-20 finish came at the Sycuan Invitational (10/23-24) in El Cajon, Calif. when he shot rounds of 74-78-73 for a 9-over-par 225 and a tie for 19th.? He just missed the top 20 at the Stevinson Ranch Invitational (4/7-8) in Stevinson, Calif. when he finished tied for 22nd with a 9-over-par 225 to help the Aggies to their first of three straight team victories.? Lozares’ lowest round of the year was a 66, which he accomplished at the PING Golf Cougar Classic to help the Aggies pick up their second consecutive tournament trophy.? He carded rounds of 66-72-75 for a 3-under-par 213.? At the NCAA DI Men’s East Regional tournament Lozares played great with rounds of 69-71-71 for a 2-under-par 211 to tie for 29th, which was second best for NMSU in that tournament.

Red shirt Junior:? When Lozares wasn’t roping calves for the New Mexico State rodeo team, he was hitting the links for the NMSU men’s golf team.? He played in four tournaments in 2006-07 and had a stroke average of 73.91.? In 12 rounds of play he had four rounds of even par or under par.? Lozares tied for sixth in the first tournament he competed in, the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M.? In that tournament he fired rounds of 71-73-69 for a 3-under-par 213.? The 69 in round three of that tournament was the lowest for Lozares in 2006-07.? In the Western Athletic Conference Championships, Lozares finished 21st after he fired 35 pars to card a 4-over-par 220.

Sophomore:? Lozares was part of the NMSU rodeo team where he participated in calf roping and team roping.

Freshman:? Lozares red shirted at Baylor University.

High School:? Lozares played golf for four years under Dave Ferriera at St. Francis High School.? Lozares was part of a team that won the Northern California Championships three times, while he was an individual runner-up twice at the Northern California Championships.? He was also a Central Coast Section medalist in the 2002-03 season.? Lozares also won a medal and was part of a team that won a national high school event in Palmetto, S.C.? Lozares also competed in high school rodeo his senior year and was named Rookie of the Year in his district.
