Freshman: Benson played in five tournaments for the Aggies in 2013-14, recording a 76.00 strokes per round average with four rounds of even or under par golf. His low round of the year came at the Price’s Give Em Five, where he shot a first round score of 69. Benson also recorded his best finish of the year at that same tournament with a 3-under par, 213, placing tied for 13^th.

High School: Benson played four years of varsity golf for Granbury High School in Granbury, Texas. He won four district championships as an individual, while being named all-district four straight seasons and all-state honors two years in a row. Benson was also named an all-region pick for three seasons. As a junior, Benson helped his team to a fourth-place finish at the regional tournament, while taking third overall as an individual in the state tournament. He also helped his team to a third-place finish at the regional tournament as a sophomore. During his career, Benson earned the team’s MVP twice, recording the lowest scoring average on the team. He also carded a low round of 64.

Personal: Benson is the son of Bill and Rita Benson. He plans to major in business.
