Biography

Junior (2013-14): Degardin had a standout sophomore season with a 10-7 singles record playing mainly on the fourth court. He was 7-1 at the No. 4 spot and picked up a win at the second, third and fifth courts as well. Eight of Degardin’s singles victories came in straight sets. He took his match against No. 29 Texas Tech to a tie-breaking three sets before being defeated. He also took two other losses to tie-breaking sets. Degardin had two three-match winning streaks on the season and won each of his matches in two sets until mid-March. In doubles play, Degardin went 6-7 while playing with five different partners. He went on a five-match winning streak with Strahinja Trecakov in February.

Sophomore (2012-13): Degardin finished the 2012-13 year with an impressive 19-14 singles record with nine of those wins coming during the spring dual season. Playing primarily at the No. 4 spot, Degardin worked for a 6-2, 6-4 win over No. 34 Mitchell Maroscher of fourth-ranked Scottsdale Community College (1/25). He went 2-4 in WAC play with wins over Seattle U and Utah State. He won eight of his nine spring matches in straight sets. Opening the fall season with two wins at the Aggie Invitational before suffering his first loss of the season in the quarterfinals, Degardin finished the opening weekend with a 4-1 record. Playing doubles all year with teammate Yannik Blank, the duo finished 11-12 on the year and 7-7 during spring play. The Aggie pair went 3-1 at the Aggie Invitational during the fall season and picked up wins against Air Force and No. 58 Denver at the UNM Balloon Fiesta Invitational. In spring play, the pair won its first two matches of the season at the first and second positions against ranked teams. An 8-2 win over No. 66 Texas A&M Corpus Christi and an 8-2 win over the No. 1 pair from fourth-ranked Scottsdale Community College helped the Aggies to a 7-7 record to finish spring play.

Freshman (2011-2012):  In his first season as an Aggie, Degradin finished 12-9 overall and was one of two Aggies to get double digit wins.  Degradin posted a 3-2 record in the WAC.  Degradin's strongest play came at the end of the season where he went 7-3 through the month of April.  In doubles competition Degradin started the season teamed with Eduardo Cabrita and posted a 3-9 record; he went 0-2 when teamed with Matej Stakne and 4-4 with Patrick Pfister.

Prior to NM State:  Degardin attained a ranking of 0 in France as a junior. He played three seasons under Vincent Valtier for the club team Bourgoin. Degardin won the French under-12 championships and was a three-time departmental champion and claimed multiple regional tournament titles.

Personal:  Degardin is from Bourgoin-Jallieu, France and is the son of Fabrice Degardin and Rolonde Fourneaux.
