Biography

2018-19: Spring: Went 4-3 in singles while going 13-6 in doubles with a 4-1 mark in conference play – earning him Second-Team All-WAC honors in with teammate Nicolas Buitrago…opened the season with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Corey Papst of Mesa CC (1/26) in singles…teamed up with Buitrago to win their first three dual matches of the season, including a 6-4 win over UNLV’s (2/1) No. 3 team…defeated David Abfalter of Saint Mary’s (3/8) in a three-set thriller 6-7, 6-1, 6-3…won five-straight doubles matches late in the season…defeated Grand Canyon’s (4/28) doubles team 6-3 in the WAC Championship match. Fall: Wrapped up the fall season 5-4 in singles and 5-3 in doubles action…opened the season with three-straight wins in singles action before falling in the championship match against teammate Louis Menard at the Aggie Invitational (9/14-16)…advanced to the quarterfinals of doubles play in the same tournament with Martin Simecek.

2017-18: Spring: Helped lead NM State to its third WAC Tournament title in four years and fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history…is a two-time Academic All-WAC honoree…missed a portion of the dual season due to an injury and finished the year with 11 wins in singles action and 18 wins in doubles play – 15 of which came with teammate Christofer Goncalves at the top position. Fall: Started the year winning his doubles flight at the Aggie Invitational (9/15-17) with Goncalves and took down Arizona’s Andres Reyes in the singles consolation quarterfinals 7-5, 6-4…defeated San Diego State’s Ignacio Martinez 6-3, 6-1 at the Wildcat Invitational (9/22-24)…advanced to the consolation finals of doubles action at both the Wildcat Invitational and Lobo Invitational (Oct. 29-Oct. 1)…advanced to the round of 32 in singles play with wins over Michiel Van Schoor of Weber State and Jake Tullis of Nevada 6-3, 6-3 at the ITA Regional Championships (Oct. 18-20)…made it to the round of 16 in doubles play with wins over Boise State and Montana…won back-to-back WAC Doubles Team of the Month in September and October.

2016-17: Spring: Finished his freshman campaign with 16 singles victories and 22 doubles wins…helped guide NM State to its third-straight Western Athletic Conference regular-season title…was a Second-Team All-WAC recipient in singles play and First-Team All-WAC honoree in doubles with teammate Christofer Goncalves…named ITA Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-WAC honoree in his first season…picked up his first dual victory against Matt Fisher of Mesa Community College (1/27) 6-1, 6-3…defeated Jamie Fraser of Louisiana (3/26) 6-2, 6-3 at home…wrapped up the regular-season with three-straight victories...teamed up with Goncalves to defeat New Mexico’s (2/25) No. 1 doubles team 6-3…opened up league play with a 6-4 win over Grand Canyon’s (3/24) top doubles team…followed up with wins over Chicago State (3/25) and Seattle U (4/7)…finished the year winning seven of his final 10 matches in doubles play. Fall: Opened the season with wins in singles and doubles play against opponents from Arizona Christian…claimed the doubles flight title at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational (9/23-25), which started a nine-match win-streak spilling into dual play…won both the singles and doubles championship flight at the Balloon Fiesta Tournament (10/7-9).

Prior to NM State: Claimed the Harry Gilberts December L6 Tournament with 1-6, 6-2, 10-5 victory over second-ranked Mason Beiler in 2014…reached the round of 16 at the BSAC Tennis Jr. Fall Classic L7 Tournament three months prior…captured the  doubles  ITF Junior Cup Championship at the Monterrey Country 2014…advanced to quarterfinals of the Queretaro Junior Cup in 2014…advanced to the semifinals in doubles play with Edson Ortiz Tovar at the Monterray San Agustin ITF Junior Cup in 2015…only Mexican to qualify for the ITF Grade A “Abierto Juvenil Mexicano 2015.”
 
Personal: Son of Luis Flores and Irma Pliego…has two sisters, Andrea and Maria...majoring in finance.
