Biography

Freshman (2009-10): As a freshman, Superlano was named to the 2010 Second Team All-WAC in doubles and as a 2010 ITA Scholar Athlete.  Superlano played during the spring, going 13-6 overall during the dual match season.  Superlano moved between the No. 4 and 6 spots, earning a winning record in each position.  Superlano went 1-0 in No. 3, 6-5 in No. 4, and 6-1 in No. 5.  Superlano's best streak came during the early spring, when he won 12 consecutive singles matches.  Superlano lost only one match between the months of February and March.  Superlano won singles dual matches against players from No. 23 Arizona on Feb 12 and against No. 53 UNM on Feb 20.  Superlano played doubles with Jim Brouleau during all of spring.  Superlano and Brouleau went 11-8 together, racking up wins against teams from No. 58 Texas A&M-CC on Jan. 24, No. 53 UNM on Feb. 20, and No. 42 Hawaii on Apr. 15. 

Prior to NM State: In 2006, Superlano helped his team win the Davis Cup, as well as earn a No. 1 team national ranking.  Superlano earned his highest ATP ranking in 2006 at No. 1056.

Personal: Orlando is the son of Orlando Superlano Sr. and Mariela Casique.  Orlando hopes to major in business administration.
