2012 Outdoor (Junior):
Schultz red-shirted for the 2012 outdoor season.
2012 Indoor (Junior): Schultz was named to the first team all-WAC for the
5,000m and second team all-WAC for the 3,000m.
Schultz was named to the academic all-WAC team in 2012. Schultz competed in the 3,000m and the 5,000m
for most of the season during the 2012 indoor season. Schultz broke the all-time school records in
the 1,000m and the 5,000m during the season.
Schultz posted a time of 2:55.39 in the 1,000m at the Texas Tech Open
(Jan. 13) and a time of 16:44.33 in the 5,000m at the Washington Husky Classic
(Feb. 10), both of which are now school records for each event. Schultz also ran the 3,000m, posting her
season-best time of 9:53.51 at the New Mexico Collegiate Invitational (Jan.
27). Schultz also ran the 1-mile at the
Texas Tech Open, posting a time of 5:06.90.
Cross Country 2011
(Junior): Schultz
was named as the WAC Athlete of the Year for a third-straight year, as well as
1st Team All-Conference and All-Academic Honors for the WAC. Schultz compiled great results for the 2011
season, which included finishing first among NM State in all but one event and
a first overall finish at the WAC Championships. Schultz's season was highlighted by her first
trip to the NCAA Championships (Nov. 11) where she finished 88th overall in the
6,000m with a time of 20:55.1. At the
WAC Championships (Oct. 29), Schultz finished first overall with a time of
17:36.5 in the 5K. It took almost 20
seconds until the second-place athlete crossed the finish line after
Schultz. Schultz also ran strong at the
NCAA Mountain Region Championships (Nov. 12), finishing 8th overall with a time
of 21:09.8 in the 6K, which was second among all athletes from the WAC. Schultz also cracked into the top-30 at the
Pre-Nationals (Oct. 16) when she placed 27th overall with a time of 21:29 in
the 6K. Schultz was able to open up the
season strong by finishing in the top-5 overall in the Lobo Invitational (Sept.
3) and the Kachina Classic (Sept. 17).
Schultz also notched a top-10 finish at the Oklahoma State Cowboy
Jamboree (Oct. 1) by finishing sixth overall with a time of 17:28.0 in the
5K.
Outdoor 2011
(Sophomore): Schultz's performance during
the outdoor track season was good enough to earn an invite to the NCAA Division
I West Preliminary Round where she posted a time of 35:21.41 in the
10,000m. Schultz's best time for the
10,000m, however, came at the Mt. SAC Relays where she posted a time of
34:42.21. Schultz also ran the 5,000m
throughout the season, posting her best time of 16:41.20 at the Payton Jordan
Cardinal Invitational.
Indoor 2011
(Sophomore): Schultz spent most of the
indoor track season running the 3,000m and the 5,000m. Schultz posted her best time for the 3,000m
at the WAC Indoor Championships with a time of 10:06.04. Schultz's best time for the 5,000m came at
the Washington Husky Classic with a time of 17:10.81. Schultz also ran the 3,000m at the New Mexico
Cherry and Silver Invitational with a time of 10:08.96 and rand the one mile at
the UNM Lobo Collegiate Open with a time of 5:14.45.
Cross Country 2010
(Sophomore): Schultz ran an equally
impressive season for her sophomore year, one that can equate to her freshman
year performance. Schultz placed first
overall at the WAC Championships for her second-straight year, finishing with a
time of 17:37.24 earning her the title of WAC Athlete of the Year for a
second-straight year. Schultz opened up
the season by placing ninth overall and first for NM State at the 2010 Lobo
Invite with a time of 17:48.0. Schultz
also ran the 2010 Paul Short Invitational, posting a time of 21:17, which was
good for 28th overall and first for NM State.
At Pre-Nationals, Schultz finished just a fraction of a second behind
sister Camille for 67th overall.
Outdoor 2010
(Freshman): Schultz broke the NM State
all-time record for the 5,000m during the outdoor season by running a time of
16:52.24 at the Mt. WAC Relays. Schultz
was also named first team All-WAC in the 5,000m for her performance at the WAC
Championships, posting a time of 17:16.94.
Schultz also competed in the 1,500m for the Aggies where she earned 10th
all-time for NM State after running a 4:40.30 at the UTEP Invitational.
Indoor 2010
(Freshman): Schultz broke the 3,000m
indoor record at NM State after she ran a blistering 9:57.70 at the New Mexico
Classic. Schultz was also a member of
the distance medley foursome that broke the NM State record after recording a
time of 11:58.15, which earned her second team All-WAC honors and was more than
25 seconds better than the previous time.
Schultz became second on the Aggie record list in the indoor mile after
posting a time of 5:03.93 at the WAC Championships earning her second team
All-WAC. Schultz also garnered second
team All-WAC honors in the 3,000m after placing sixth at the WAC Championships
with a time of 10:30.05.
Cross Country 2009
(Freshman): Schultz was named Athlete of
the Year and Freshman of the Year for cross country in the WAC last season for
NM State due to her outstanding performance.
Schultz was also named first team All-WAC after placing first overall at
the WAC Championships. Schultz placed in
the top 10 in four of the six meets she ran in 2009. Her fastest time for the 5K came at the
Bronco Invitational where she finished in 17:20.
Prior to NM State: Before
coming to NM State, Shultz was a member of the Oklahoma State cross country
team during the 2008 season.
High School: Schultz attended Cloudcroft High School in Cloudcroft, N.M., where she
was an individual state champion in the 1,500, 3,200 and the 800-meter run as a
senior. In 2007, she was an individual state champion in cross country as well.
She helped her team to back-to-back track and field state and district
championships in 2007 and 2008. Her cross country team was also district
champions the same years. Schultz is a record holder in the 1,500-meter run and
was a member of the 2007 all-star cross country team.
