Biography
Freshman (2022): Competed in five meets during the outdoor season, primarily in middle distance events… Managed an 11th place finish in the 5000m at the Aztec Invitational (March 25th) after posting a time of 18:42.21… Took tenth in the 1500m after recording a time of 5:04.88 at the UNM Spring Invitational (April 7th), setting a personal best in the event… Recorded a ninth-place result at the Beach Invitational (April 15th) in the 5000m, setting a new personal best with a time of 18:41.66… Posted a time of 12:15.85 in the 3000m steeplechase at the Desert Heat Classic (April 30th).
High School: Ran Varsity all four years of her High school career... Competed in the 800m, 1600m, 3200m, and 4x800 relay... Placed first and set a personal record in the 800m at the Safford Bulldog Invitational (3/13) her junior year with a time of 2:36.09... Set two school records her senior year in the 1600m and 3200m... Set the school record in the 5000m with a time of 19.14... Ran a time of 5:30.96 in the 1600m placing fifth... Placed fourth in the 3200m recording a time of 11:52.43... Is a 3x State qualifier for the 3200m, and a 2x state qualifier for the 1600m... Received a Scholar Student Athlete Award for her role and participation in National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and National Technical Honor Society.
Personal: Daughter of Chris O'Connell... Has two younger siblings, Kellee and Brandon O'Connell... Majoring in Kinesiology.
